Patient Group Activities

Monday

2.00pm – 3.00pm: Story Time. Relax & listen to a short story. Discuss it over a cup of tea.

Tuesday

11.30am – 12.30pm: Exercise Class. Wendy, a professional trainer, runs the class. You can participate from a chair or standing. £4 per session, pay on the day – you don’t have to commit to a course.

2.30pm – 4.00pm: Music Appreciation. Watch DVDs and Listen to CDs. Light music, films, opera and ballet. Led by a professional actor and a connoisseur who gives an insider’s viewpoint & a synopsis of the shows. A small donation towards refreshment would be appreciated.

Wednesday

9.30am – 10.30am: Advanced Exercise Class. This is one for you if you would like more strenuous exercise than in Tuesday’s class. Also taken by Wendy, £4 per session, pay on the day.

10.30am – 12pm: Gentle winter walks starting in January, accompanied by a qualified leader. The walks are taken at a leisurely pace – according to the needs of the group. Meet at the surgery.

2.00pm – 4pm: Knit & Natter. Bring along your knitting, crochet or sewing and enjoy tea & biscuits. But most of all enjoy a Natter in friendly company. £2 a month to cover refreshments costs.

Thursday

11.00am – 12.00pm: Qi Gong. Qi Gong involved gentle rhythmic exercises for all ages & abilities which can be done standing or seated. Helps with posture & breathing, increases energy, promotes relaxation & strengthens the immune system. The instructor is very experienced & adapts the exercises to individual needs. £4 per session but the first class is free.

Friday

10.30am – 11.30am: Art for Fun. Drawing, colouring, painting – the choice is yours. All materials provided. A small donation towards refreshment would be appreciated.

There are other individual, seasonal celebrations, arranged and facilitated by the Patients Group. Why are you sitting alone when you could be enjoying life with friends, attending these activities?
