We run a ‘total triage’ system at Bounds Green Group Practice, which means all requests are reviewed by one of our Clinicians to provide the best and most appropriate care for your need.
How to Book GP appointments
To request an appointment:
- use our appointment request form, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 3.30pm
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) to book a screening test or vaccination
If you are unable to access this service, the reception team will be happy to help you complete the relevant questionnaires on the phone with you. All information is treated as confidential whether received by telephone or electronically.
Nurses/HCA appointments can be made up to a month in advance.
What happens once I have submitted my request?
You will be contacted by one of these teams with further advice or an appointment.
We aim to manage most queries the same day they are received; if an appointment is advised, this will be either on the same day or within one week.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Consultations by phone, video call, by text or email are more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment, you will be asked to either re-book your appointment or wait until the end of surgery to be seen by a doctor.
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- phone us on 0208 888 1736, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6.30pm
- reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help when we are closed, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
Home visits
Home visits can be requested for patients who are unable to travel or be brought to the surgery.
If you think you need a home visit, please submit a request via our appointment request form before 10.30am if possible.
A clinician will contact you after the submission.
Think Pharmacy First
What is Pharmacy First?
Patients can now see a pharmacist first and do not need a GP appointment or a prescription to get advice and treatment for certain conditions.
It’s easy, you can just walk in!
You may also be referred by an NHS provider, like NHS 111, or your GP practice.
- Treatment may be an over-the-counter medicine or prescription medication, depending on the clinical needs of the patient.
- No appointment is needed.
- Private consultation rooms are available for confidential discussions.
- Please note: If you have prolonged or recurrent symptoms or skin discolouration, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, then you will need to contact your GP surgery.
